New NEB Approved Member Client Brochure
Helps Advisors Build Trust

March 2007—National Ethics Bureau has enhanced its Approved Member Client Brochure to better explain why consumers should do business with NEB members. In fact, the revised brochure drives home this message by asking right on its cover, “Why Choose an NEB Approved Member?”

The inside of the brochure powerfully answers that question. It explains that NEB members “have submitted themselves to the most comprehensive background check in the industry.” This, the brochure notes, “allows consumers to feel more confident, knowing that they are choosing an advisor with a verified record of business ethics.”

As in the prior version, the new brochure stresses the value of trust in today’s financial services marketplace. It then positions NEB’s Ethics Check System™ as the best way for consumers to verify an advisor’s trustworthiness.

Since the Ethics Check System™ is the key reason to select an NEB member over a non-member, the enhanced brochure includes more detail on the eight separate checks involved. It also frequently mentions the term “consumer trust”. The takeaway: that NEB members are committed to exemplary business ethics—and have the record to prove it.

Another key enhancement is the inclusion of a chart comparing NEB with the Better Business Bureau. Consumers will see that BBB focuses on businesses, while NEB focuses on individual advisors. Ideally, consumers should make sure an advisor’s business has a clean record with BBB and that his or her individual record meets NEB’s rigorous standards.

Finally, the new brochure has a cleaner version of the NEB logo and gives more visual weight to our Verification Hotline. The best way for members to establish trust with prospects is to encourage them to call NEB to verify their backgrounds. Prospects can also check out a prospective advisor on our web site at www.ethicscheck.com.
