SAN DIEGO, CA May 1, 2004 - The National Ethics Bureau (NEB) announced today that Midland National Life Insurance Company, of West Des Moines, Iowa, is the recipient of their “Eye on Ethics” award for their policies on maintaining ethics in their industry and for the production and distribution of their all-inclusive product guide and compliance handbook. Midland representatives Bryce Biklen, Jane Brown, Chad Snyder and Rob Tekolste were named co-recipients of the award.

“We conducted an examination of Midland National’s policies to promote fair and ethical sales practices for all their independent representatives nationwide, said Jeffrey Kopitz, Executive Director for the NEB: ‘and we have found them and their written material that explains their stance on ethics to far exceed the traditional efforts seen throughout the financial services industry.'

NEB National Director Steven McCarty remarked, “Midland National doesn’t just talk about ethics – they enforce policies and procedures to reasonably assure compliance, plus they have a real effective system for communicating all company requirements and applicable new laws that apply.”

Midland National Life, a leading provider of life insurance and annuities, was founded in 1906 and has a national sales force of over 10,000 licensed professionals.

The National Ethics Bureau (NEB) established the Eye on Ethics Award to honor those that demonstrate an extraordinary level of support and dedication to the advancement of exemplary business ethics in America . The NEB seeks to identify individuals or organizations that provide evidence of this commitment through excellence in print, journalism or literature.
