NEB Awards Charles Schwab Corporation for Commanding the Highest Standards of Ethical Conduct |

SAN DIEGO, CA June 15, 2004 - The National Ethics Bureau (NEB) announced today that the Charles Schwab Corporation is the recipient of their “Eye on Ethics” award for commanding the highest standards of ethical conduct for all their directors, officers and employees. These standards, as well as the consequences for failure to comply and report violations, are outlined in Schwab’s 12-page “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics” compliance manual. Founder & Chairman Charles R. Schwab and CEO David S. Pottruck have been named as co-recipients of this award.
“These days, many financial institutions are jumping on the ‘ethics bandwagon’ and paying lip-service to a culture of ethics and values”, said Steven McCarty, National Director of the NEB: ‘but Schwab has a long-standing reputation for honesty and integrity in the industry because their core values have not changed in over three decades.”
