National Ethics Bureau Releases New Sponsorship Guide

The National Ethics Bureau Publishes Guide for Financial Services Organizations Wishing to Promote Ethical Business Practices

SAN DIEGO, CA, April 14, 2008—Financial services organizations that want to do their part to promote ethical business practices have a new resource available: the National Ethics Bureau’s Sponsorship Guide.

NEB’s new guide is designed for financial marketing organizations, insurance companies, and securities firms who wish to join the ranks of ethically minded firms that have become official NEB sponsors.

Sponsors aren’t members of NEB—only individual financial professionals can qualify—but rather are firms that wish to encourage their affiliated professionals to keep their ethics edge sharp. There is no charge to become an NEB sponsor.

“NEB sponsors generate a win-win-win for their advisors, for their clients, and for themselves,” says NEB Chairman Steven R. McCarty. “But to achieve these benefits, organizations must actively promote NEB membership to their advisors by providing incentives to join and by communicating those incentives on a regular basis. Our new Sponsorship Guide helps them to do just that.”

The NEB Sponsorship Guide provides a detailed road map for promoting ethical business practices to a financial-professional audience, including recommended activities by phase and examples of NEB communication tools available free to all sponsors.

“We encourage all financial-services sales and marketing organizations to consider the benefits of NEB sponsorship,” says NEB’s McCarty. “It doesn’t cost anything and the benefits are compelling, especially if an organization wants to attract high-quality professionals while minimizing
compliance risk.”
