SAN DIEGO, CA, October 24, 2007—Financial professionals seeking guidance on using educational designations ethically will get answers by listening to “The Future of Designations,” the latest podcast in the Trendwatch series sponsored by the National Ethics Bureau and ProducersWeb.com.

The podcast is free and available for listening at www.TrendWatchPodcast.com.

“Designations have been a hot topic in 2007,” says Steven R. McCarty, NEB Chairman. “There have been a lot of questions about responsible use of designations, especially in the senior marketplace. This podcast will help producers understand the emerging regulatory trends and to make appropriate decisions regarding which designations to pursue.”

Scheduled for launch on October 24, 2007, the podcast will feature Dr. Larry Barton, President and CEO of The American College and Henrietta Nye, President of Keir Educational Resources. Key trends to be discussed include new laws and regulations that will reshape the selection and use of professional designations, the difference between accredited designations and educational certifications, and the challenge of using designations ethically in the sales process.

The designation program will be followed by two additional Trendwatch podcasts to be launched in November and December, respectively.

The third program, scheduled for November 14, will explore the future of long-term care insurance with guests Phyllis Shelton, President of LTC Consultants, and Jim Vonbruchhaeuser, Senior Vice President of M&O Marketing. Trends to be discussed include who’s buying LTCI and why, product designs that are reshaping the industry, and the role and impact of the new LTC partnership programs.

The fourth and final TrendWatch show for 2007, scheduled for December 12, will explore the future of life settlements with guests Scott Kirby, Co-President of Advanced Settlements; Brad Strickland, Senior Vice President of Melville Capital Life Settlements; and Mike Quinn, Executive Vice President of Cielo Life Settlement. Trends to be discussed include positive developments for consumers and advisors, today’s suitability issues, and new opportunities in a maturing market.

The debut Trendwatch podcast, which launched on September 24, addressed the future of annuities. Show guests included Dick Duff, President of RWD Enterprises, and Steve Phillips, Director of Agent Education for Creative Marketing. Trends discussed included overcoming the media, current trends and buying triggers, and new income options and opportunities.

Hosted by NEB Chairman Steven R. McCarty and NEB President Jeffrey S. Kopitz, the new Trendwatch series brings together the industry’s top experts to help producers stay one step ahead of the issues transforming the business today.

“We are delighted to partner with ProducersWEB.com on this initiative,” said NEB’s McCarty. “They have the leading platform for communicating with financial professionals. And they are committed to publishing valuable content that helps advisors to advance in the marketplace.”

“We are looking for NEB to provide a valuable perspective on the important trends changing our industry,” said Jeff Schottland, Vice President of e-Media with ProducersWEB.com. “I will count on them to ask hard questions about the ethical impact of today’s trends so that our listeners can do what’s right for their clients.”
